Client Testimonials

“Chicago Litigation Consultants has been a valued part of our professional development programs for twenty years. Richard Shavzin is incredibly knowledgeable—having worked with law firms for over 25 years—thoughtful and creative, and willing to tailor his offerings to meet your needs. He is especially talented at providing construction critique on the performance of the young lawyers. Our associates often mention his feedback as one of the highlights of the deposition skills training.

His group consists of well-informed, experienced, and talented actors. They always know the facts and their roles inside and out, and they vary their characters’ personalities as needed to provide the realistic experiences our young lawyers will encounter throughout their careers. For example, I have seen them play a befuddled, fearful low-level employee so well that I wondered if they really were like that in real life. Later in the day, the same actor playing a different character became a convincing hard hitting, cynical executive. They are agile, too. At a recent deposition training program we wanted to challenge one of our participants, a fairly experienced lawyer. The actor whom he questioned did an amazing job of being “helpful, but elusive,” requiring our lawyer to work hard to get the answers he wanted.

Overall, they are a terrific resource for any learn-by-doing litigation training program.”

“For years we have used actors from Chicago Litigation Consultants in our deposition programs, and they add an element of realism and spontaneity that we could never equal if we tried to play those roles ourselves or used other non-actors from our legal world. It makes the experience for the lawyers we’re training so much better.”

“It makes a real difference having professional actors play these roles.”
